How to watch London Marathon 2019

THE 39th London Marathon is upon us with world record holder Eliud Kipchoge set to race the streets looking for a fourth title.
Elite athletes, fundraisers and celebrities will take on 26.2 miles - here is all you need to know about the race.

When is the 2019 London Marathon?

The 2019 London Marathon will take place on on Sunday, April 28.
The races take place at:
  • 9.05am - Elite Wheelchair Races
  • 9.10am - World Para Athletics Marathon World Cup ambulant races
  • 9.25am - The Elite Women's Race
  • 10.10am - The Elite Men's Race, British Athletics and England Athletics Marathon Championships and Mass Race

What TV channel is is on and can I live stream it?

The BBC will be showing coverage of the London Marathon throughout the day.
It will be on BBC1, BBC Sport Online and red button with different cameras available.
The red button will give commentary on the elite races and then will offer finish line coverage.

Who are the British hopefuls in the elite races?

Last year's winner of the men's elite marathon Eliud Kipchoge is back aiming for a fourth win in the capital.
Kipchoge, 24, is the current marathon world record holder and holds the London marathon course record.
Mo Farah is back for his second London marathon after finishing third in 2018.
Eight time winner David Weir will be competing in the men's wheelchair race.

There are a number of celebrities running the London Marathon this year with some first timers and some coming back for more.
Amongst the famous faces are eight Eastenders who are joining Scott Mitchell, Dame Barabara Windsor's husband.
